There are a lot of wrecks (more than 20) in the area of La Manga - Cabo de Palos.

We have been able to localize 14 of them till now, but we are still looking for more.
The list below is sorted after the depth of the bottom.

  • Ulla and Turia - MInesweeper - Old minesweeper made of wood (40 years old) ; droped down by the spanish navy in 1999 as artifical reefs; Depth: 27-35 meters; Size. 40 meters; little current sometimes; not difficult to dive. Distance between these 2 wrecks is only 300m.

  • Naranjito - Isla de la Gomera : sank due to the movemnet of its cargo during a storm. It stayed on the sandy bottom in a vertical position. Min. depth 27m - max depth 44m.

  • Carbonero - merchant ship with more than 80m length, sunk by a German U-boat in WW1, depth min. 36m - max. 45m; lot of fish like conger eels, morays, black breams, groupers and some times you can see here sun fishes.

  • Cobre - lying on the side, min. depth 42m - max depth 49m; 1 mile further east of Carbonero

  • El Sama or El Vapor - a very old steamer with a big boiler in the mid section, min. depth 43m - max depth 49m; 1 mile away from the Ulla; upright on the sea bed but widely destroyed
