The team focuses on locating and identifying unfound and unidentified wrecks. As most of the shallow wrecks in the area are already covered, the D.I.E. focuses on deeper mysteries. The founding members are: Volker Borchert is the owner of Deep Impact and has a long history in technical diving. He started diving in 1990. Volker started his technical career in 1995 with the Florida tech pioneer Billy Deans. His diving career continued with TDI and Rob Palmer. Volker dives OC and is currently being trained in Megalodon CCR. Volkers main interest is exploring unidentified deep wrecks. Mike Long works on an offshore oilrig and is trained by Volker. He dives an Inspiration CCR configured for either caves or deep wrecks. Mike has a passion for wrecks and has an interest in war history. Jussi Hyttinen is a professional photographer. He has been diving since 1990 and started his technical career in 2003. Jussi dives OC and is currently being trained in AH-1 PASCR. Jussi is the photographer / writer of the team, and is hooked on caves and wrecks. Among others the team is supported by Thomas Klippe, David Ditchman and Kexy Svara. Thus far the team has been succesful in locating and diving several virgin wrecks in the 80-140 m depth range. The team is currently working on full project exhibitions to be displayed here.
